We have an extensive research library and archives. Experienced staff can help visitors with genealogies and biographies for many local families. Our files are useful for a variety of research projects as they contain information and pictures of geology, mining, ranching, the sheep industry and many other subjects.

      Local Stories and Memories

      Join us for an afternoon of local                        storytelling as community                                  members share memories, family stories,        and Sweet Grass County history.

  • Norwegian Roots in Montana Soil

     September 15 at 6:00 p.m.​

     Guest Speaker Penny Redli of the                   Beartooth Museum in Columbus will                 explore Norwegian settlement and                   heritage in Montana.

The Crazy Mountain Museum Geneology Program will offer a variety of ongoing workshops, lecture events, and community programs throughout the year, including beginner and intermediate genealogy instruction, guest speakers, and special local history presentations.

      A welcoming workshop for beginners and anyone                      looking to start organizing and documenting their family            history.

       Schedule individual assistance with genealogy                           questions, brick-wall research, or help using online  and             local resources.
